Children and Neighbourhoods in London is a project of The Children's Society. This means it can call on The Children's Society's 125-years experience of working with vulnerable children and young people. All CNL's work is based on the The Children's Society's mission, vision and values.

Underpinning CNL's approach are the following values:

Participation and child-centredness - a focus on creating opportunities for children and young people of all abilities to become actively involved in all areas of our work. This includes opportunities to have their say on issues that affect their lives; to influence the design and delivery of policies and services so that they reflect their needs and to have their participation supported and recognised.

Diversity - CNL is an inclusive project. This means we embrace the diverse identities, histories, beliefs, abilities and lifestyles of the children with whom we work. We also try to engage 'hard-to-reach' and underrepresented groups in all our work. We aim to raise awareness of and improve the lives of children and young people who experience prejudice and discrimination.
