Wandsworth Council
CNL Consultancy undertook a study of free play opportunities, consulting with some 20 parents and carers and 60 children and young people. This study informed the development of the Play Strategy.

Quote: “Across the board, all the children engaged were 'at risk' and CNL worked well with them. In particular, CNL's specific work with young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties and disabilities was done very well - these groups of young people were engaged in the focus group session really well.”
Jenny Hoyle, Play Strategy Development Officer at Wandsworth Council

Newham Children's Fund - Peer Evaluation project
20 Children and young people wer trained by CNL Consultancy on how to consult with their peers, and the group were then supported to conduct evaluations of a number of projects across Newham.

Quote: “We are already using CNL again. They communicated really well, kept to the timescale and kept us involved in what was happening. They were really efficient in what they did.”
Maxine Lafayette, Development Officer at Newham Children's Fund

Newham Children's Fund
Gypsy/Traveller Consultation - in 2004, CNL Consultancy carried out a consultation project for Newham Children's Fund on the education, health and leisure needs of traveller children and young people living on unauthorised sites.

Participation capacity building programme - CNL Consultancy ran a training and support programme to help staff develop the skills they need to involve young people in their work.

Quote: “I have been impressed with the ongoing communication between us, it has meant I feel included and updated about where the project it is at; so far the project has met its targets to a high standard.”
Maxine Lafayette, Acting Programme Manager, Newham Children's Fund

Greater London Authority
CNL Consultancy undertook two consultation projects for the Greater London Authority (GLA):

Envirocrime - this project fed into the environment committee and led to a series of recommendations outlined in the Young London Speaks report.

Youth Matters - this consultation project resulted in a presentation of the findings by young people to the health and public services committee.

Quote: “I thought the young people's presentation to the committee was worthwhile and I enjoyed hearing their points of view. Please pass on the committee's thanks to all the young people you worked with, especially those who came in and talked to us.”
Anna Malos, Scrutiny Manager, Greater London Authority

Harrow Council
CNL Consultancy delivered a consultation project on the redevelopment of three local parks involving 376 children and young people. We also ran a one-day training course on working with children and young people for staff.

Quote: “Everyone benefited. Staff got a lot out of the involvement training and are now confident they're implementing what children and young people want in our parks and open spaces. The children, in turn, can see their views becoming a reality in the parks.”
Carol Yarde, Local Area Champion, Harrow Council
